Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

When I'm creating a Lotto entry, why is the OK button disabled?

The entry is not completed or is invalid. You need to select which days of the week you're playing as well as generate lines. You must also not exceed the available funds for the entry.

I've displayed my Lotto entry, but it doesn't tell me anything.

You must confirm the entry as purchased to have it compared with the results. Without a purchase date, the game will not know which draws to compare the entry against.

Why do I have to give a purchase date?

Which draws your entry will play is determined by the date and time they are purchased. The creation of an entry in LSMC represents all aspects of a Lotto play except when the play starts. Confirming a purchase allows the manager to know which draws to compare the play/gamble with.

I've created a new gamble, but I cannot set its purchase date as yesterday.

You may only confirm the purchase date on or after the entry's creation date. This is by design.

The game will not allow me to update it.

The games assume certain draw times (8pm for UK games), and entering draw results before this time is prevented. Draws are rarely made earlier.

The draw dates for Christmas and New Year are wrong.

The games assume that the draws are on certain days of the week only. The game organizers may move draw dates to avoid clashes with key holidays, but we don't attempt to predict them.

If you want to check results against your plays, but the change of draw date prevents you from updating a game's results, you can use the compare result feature when you display your gamble. (This feature was not included in earlier versions of the games).

What is the ignore before date for?

When the games are missing draw results, they indicate this in the manager's main window. You can select to ignore missing draw results prior to certain dates so the game doesn't request them. You can also download the results from this site.

Why don't the member credits add up to the proper amount?

Often the sums of money do not divide equally, so the manager holds a seperate indivisible cash sum. This amount may be seen in the syndicate details window. You will see here that the amount you should be holding is correct.

Why don't you print the line info onto the play-slips?

Sadly the playslips don't provide room to do this.

How do I print a member leave form?

When you remove the member (he/she must have a play count of zero), the remove member dialog has a print member leave form option. This is the only place you can produce this form. If you only want to remove the member only after the form is signed, you may cancel the member remove process, and remove him/her from the manager at a later date.

We've had a non-trivial win, how do I share it out?

Use the syndicate credit withdraw option. Here you can withdraw an amount from the syndicate as a whole. You may either enter the global amount, or the amount per member. The amounts may be different depending on which value you enter. This is because of the rounding effect and the indivisible cash sum, it is not an error in the manager.

Why don't you have number analysis for the games?

They serve almost no useful purpose. Some people believe that by analysing the history of a draws results, will enable the prediction of future results. This is rubbish (sadly). The only possible value to them is to avoid numbers predicted by other analysis tools, but their variation in approach would delete the need for this as well. They may look 'professional' and stylish, but they are worthless features. Our aim is to provide a useful tool, not to deceive users.
